    Spring Break

Did you know that 2 year olds get spring break. Surprised? Me too. My daughter attends a local Montessori school and they have the entire week of for Spring Break. I guess that Spring Break is just one of the differences between pre-school and daycare. Everyone I know whose kids attend daycare don’t have a break this week, but those friends whose kids are in pre-school do. I assume that it is the attempt to make pre-school like real school. Which I guess is a good think - we’ll have to get used to these types of holidays and breaks when she gets to “real” school, but still it would have been nice not to have to worry about alternative care arrangements.

Anyway - because she had off, we had a great week. My husband took the day off of work on Wednesday and brought her into the city to see where I work. We had lunch together and she got to swirl around in my chair and meet all of my colleagues. Today, I took the day off and we went to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia with our friends. We had a great time - she loves that place - but it really is overwhelming - to see it all you have to go back many many times.

So what do you do when your kids have off of school? Do you have alternative arrangments that can be made or do you have to take time off of work? What do you do?
